Walk - Friday 21st August
Rivelin Valley. Meet at Rails Road Car Park at 8.15 for an 8.30 prompt start. The car park is on the small part of Rails Road which is between Rivelin Valley Road and Manchester Road. There is a postcode for the car park, but it takes you to a diifferent part of Rails Road so I haven't bothered copying it.
The walk is 4.6 miles and should take just over 2 hours plus a stop for food. It’s a fairly easy walk, with one long steady incline and a tricky downhill section down some steep steps to negotiate. Boots will be needed if it rains a lot this week. We will have a breakfast break before the half way point, so make sure you bring something if you're coming.
What to expect: There is a lot of history on the walk including numerous water wheel sites, dams and a couple of quarries overlooking the valley. There are also some amazing views of the Rivelin Valley to enjoy too.
* Please not* Due to Covid 19 restrictions numbers are limited, so names needed to be put down in advance.
The usual charge of £3 per person applies for this walk.
