Linacre Woods - 9th December

Post  Steve M on Mon Oct 29, 2012 9:27 am

Sunday 9th December - Linacre Woods
This is an interesting walk of 8 miles in an unspoilt area which should take us roughly 4.5 hours to complete. The walk takes us from Linacre Reservoir through the woods to the lovely little hamlet of Millthorpe from where we make our way back to the start via Oxton Rakes. Expect grassy paths and tracks, fields, bridleways, woodland and undulating hills on this fairly easy walk.

Details:-
Meet at the Lower of the three Car Parks at Linacre Reservoir (car parks are signposted off the B6050 on the way out of Chesterfield through Cutthorpe). No postcode for this walk but it's easy enough to find providing you get the correct road out of Chesterfield! Meet at 10.0 for 10.15 start

Anyone with local knowledge would be handy to have around on this one - we always struggle with the route Question

Just wondering if anybody is going to put their name down for this one. It's a lovely walk, only half an hour from Sheffield, and the weather forecast isn't bad either so what's the problem folks??????

Perhaps it's a case of "after the Lord Mayor's show" after last weeks extravaganza, but I can't believe there's only me and Andrea up to now Surprised .

If no-one else sticks their name down by first thing tomorrow I think we might give ourselves a day off for once and do something Christmassy rendeer .

I e-mailed you a while since to tell you that I'd cancelled the walk. There were no definite names down, including you when I decided to cancel. Sorry if it mucks you about, but there's always next week!
