Wharncliffe Side - 16th December

Post  Steve M on Mon Oct 29, 2012 9:29 am

Sunday 16th December - Wharncliffe Side
An 8 and a half mile round walk which sets off from the lovely Glen Howe Park at Wharncliffe Side and takes us alongside More Hall and Brightholmlee Reservoirs to High Bradfield. From there it’s fields and country lanes all the way back to the start. Mainly field paths and tracks and possibly a great deal of mud on this walk which should take four and a half hours to complete.

Details:-
Meet at Glen Howe Car Park, Green lane, Wharncliffe Side at 10.0 for 10.15 start. No public transport for this walk.

Sorry I can't make this or next weeks walk but will definitely be joining you on the Roche Abbey one just after Christmas. As I won't see you beforehand, Happy Christmas to everyone and thanks to Steve and Andrea for such a great year of walks, weekends and socials. I've thoroughly enjoyed myself, even the wet, muddy bits.

We have been lucky once again with the weather....not as lucky as Roger though, a winner once again. When can we ban him from having a go ?

Not as much mud as I expected but there was enough for me Neutral Those hills were difficult today and those ladder stiles didnt make life any easier. Im sure one day Archie will suprise and us all and get over them unassisted No

So nice to have Jan and Holly back , hope we eased you back into it Very Happy

What a lovely walk this was. No major disasters in the mud. Fantastic views all day and as usual wonderful people to share the day with. Thanks everyone and merry Christmas to you all. X

How lucky are we to have such fantastic scenery so close to Sheffield? Just 10 minutes by car from our house and we get as good a walk as any in the Peaks - and without the crowds too!

Great crowd today made it a lovely day out in the sunshine I ordered up Wink . More next week...........

That was a lovely walk, lucky with the weather and also with only a few tumbles, Cherry was really lucky. As you say lucky to have such beautiful scenery on our doorstep
