Sunday 13th September - Derwent Reservoir
This is an 8 mile walk with famous views from 'up above' of the Ladybower and Derwent reservoirs, and in the distance of Win Hill, Lose Hill and the Mam Tor ridge. The outward section takes us along Derwent Edge, and the return is via Fairhomes and Derwent Reservoir. Some rocky footpaths and 385 metres of ascent on this walk which should take around 4 and a half hours to complete.

Details:-
Meeting point is at the side of the A57, About 400 yards after the Ladybower Inn and just before the Ashopton Viaduct. An early meet time of 9.30 for a 9.45 start for this walk as parking is limited. Additional parking can be found half a mile away at Heatherdene Car Park which is situated on the left on the A6013 Bamford Road about 200 yards past the Ladybower bridge coming from the Sheffield direction.

We'll be coming along Holme Lane if you want to hook up with us Karen. Would 9 o clock on Rivelin Valley Road where the 1st pedestrian crossing is suit you?

Achy knees and bad backs tonight for both of us, but still wouldn't have missed this lovely walk for the world. Derwent Edge is a special place and when the heather is out and the sun is shining, I can't think of many better places to be. Great company and some good laughs made this all the better too. Here's to the next one wine

Aching all over, having not walked for a while, but worth it all for a great walk in stunning scenery. The views down over the valley and the vibrant colours of the heather as always make Derwent Edge and the whole area a wonderful place to walk. Like Steve says, great company, plenty of laughs and sunshine all day, what more could you ask for on a Sunday.

Hi late note to say thanks for a lovely walk and yes, me and Steve also had a few aches and pains afterwards but it was worth it. Thanks for everyone's company on such a nice day.
