Saturday 21st Feb - Brown Edge

Saturday 21st Feb - Brown Edge
A 4 mile walk which should take 2-2.5 hours to complete. The walk takes us past the Alpaca Farm, and then down part of the Porter Valley before we head up a track on to some quiet country lanes and the tiny hamlet of Bassett. From Bassett we head up on to Brown Edge Moor and then finally round Lady Canning's Plantation on our way back to the start. There are 2 hilly ascents, and one difficult downhill section.

Meet inside the Norfolk Arms, 2 Ringinglow Village, S11 7TS at 9.30 for tea and coffee and to place your lunch order. The walk cost is £10 which is payable to the pub before the start of the walk.

17 of us for this one which was excellent. In fact, if it carries on at this rate, and we reach 25 the pub are saying that they might have to limit the numbers by getting people to book in advance.

I think that this article in the Telegraph this week helped!
