Bradfield - Sunday 11th January

Post  Steve M on Mon Jan 05, 2015 8:06 am

Bradfield - Sunday 11th January
An 8 and a half mile round walk which sets off from Glen Howe Park at Wharncliffe Side and takes us alongside More Hall and Brightholmlee Reservoirs to High Bradfield. From there it’s fields and country lanes all the way back to the start. Mainly field paths and tracks and possibly a bit of mud on this walk which should take about four and a half hours to complete.

Details:-
Meet at Glen Howe Car Park, Green lane, Wharncliffe Side at 10.0 for 10.15 start.

Smashing walk not too far from home for us. Weather not too bad apart from the icy wind up on top, plenty of mud made the going tough. A few laughs along the way, especially the Geese.

Always nice to do a local walk, and to get home in 15 minutes afterwards. To say it was a walk some of us new well, we didn't half differ about which way to go didn't we Wink

Strength sapping wind alright, but it was the mud underfoot that we struggled with more I think Neutral

Wonder if Darren's recovered yet from having a beak between his legs? Surprised

Was that really only 8.5 miles? My legs think it was 10! The wind and the mud made it much harder than usual. But at least it didn't rain too much. Some funny incidents today including Steve having his shoe pinched by a passer bys dog and us being chased down a hill by guard geese! Thanks to everyone for being good company. See you soon.

It certainly was a laugh.
My legs, knees and hips are telling me that it was a tough walk.
