Charity Music Event - Sunday 3rd August in the barn at Whirlow Hall Farm - Bands in the Barn

Post  Hilary D on Sat Jul 05, 2014 3:59 am

Hi everyone, I am a member of the Wanderers although sadly, I don't get on many walks now. I have contacted Steve to ask if I can advertise an event on this website and he kindly agreed for me to do so.

I work for a company based in Sheffield called Wilson Field and we are participating in The Master Cutlers Challenge 2014. The Master Cutler’s Challenge was first launched in 2008 and has become one of the largest annual fundraising events in the region. The challenge is sponsored by Sheffield Forgemasters International, who give each of the participants £100. The aim is to then turn the £100 into as much as we possibly can, within six months of the challenge starting. Since it first launched, the Challenge has inspired companies, organisations, schools and individuals to raise in excess of half a million pounds for local causes.

This year the Challenge creates a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in our local community, by supporting the work of Sheffield Hospitals’ Charity and Whirlow Hall Farm Trust.

Whirlow Hall Farm Trust will use any money raised to enable them to continue with their work in providing a unique countryside learning experience for children from deprived backgrounds and with disabilities.

Sheffield Hospitals’ Charity will use any money raised will ensure that the Jessop Wing Maternity Unit continues to provide critical care for premature and seriously ill babies, as well as vital support for their families.

As a company, Wilson Field is investing our time and money into this challenge and have arranged a music event to be held at Whirlow Hall Farm on Sunday 3rd August 2014.  I am the person responsible for organising it all - I am knackered but enjoying seeing it come together!

A 12 year old bassist and ex Human League member Russ Dennett are amongst musicians featuring in the line-up which is guaranteed to get everyone rocking on the hay bales!
The grand finale to the night will be one to remember with a combination of some/all the band members on and off stage bringing the evening to a close with a selection of vintage rock and blues that will get you grabbing your inflatable blow up guitar (variety of colours on sale) and hitting the dance floor!

Leading Sheffield AV specialist TDC is providing lighting and audio for the event.

Abbeydale Brewery will be serving the City’s best real ales and the famous Whirlow BBQ will be sizzling!

A barn, bands, hay bales, beer and BBQ - Come along and have a ‘rocking’ good time! Tickets are only £10.00. please send me an email    h.dennis-madin@wilsonfield.co.uk   if you wish to purchase tickets and I will get them in the post to you. Thank you for taking the time to read this post - I have already sold some tickets to some Wanderers!!  sunny
