Five Dales - Sunday 29th June

Post  Admin on Sat Apr 05, 2014 7:44 am

Sunday 29th June - Five Dales in one walk!
Millers Dale is where this walk starts and ends, and will be familiar to most people who walk regularly with us. But how about Dam Dale, Hay Dale, Peter Dale and Monks Dale? These are included in this 10 mile walk along with Peak Forest, Limestone Way and Pennine Bridleway on a walk which includes 250 metres of ascent and should take 5 and a half hours to complete.

Details:-
Meet at the old railway car park in Millers Dale at 10.0 for 10.15 start.

Hi Colin can't be sure which way you leave Sheffield (a61 or a621?) but can get to either of those if that helps! Thanks

Perhaps Chris might be your best bet and you'll be able to discuss tonight.

4 out of 5 Dales weren't a problem, but Monks Dale wasn't an easy stretch with all the limestone rocks, but it was really picturesque all the same.

Really nice to see Mick and Sue for the first time this year, and to hear about their travels, and nice to have Carolyn back with us for the first time in a while too.

Hope you're feeling ok after your tumble Debbie, you had us worried for a moment there.

Yes thanks Steve I'm fine but I have some impressive bruises! It's Monks Dale 2 Debbie 0 at the moment, it's an annual thing with me!
But lovely all the same and so much moss to stroke! And the ugly sheep was a laugh! Great to get out and stay out in the fresh air no matter what the weather isn't it?
Thanks Steve and Andrea for a lovely day

It was great to have Mick and his colourful friend join us on this walk  Smile

Walking through all those dales was really lovely. It was so warm and muggy (not sure if that's even a real word) I could have done with a shower half way round.

Debbie so glad nothing was broken as you certainly went down with some force.

The ice cream / tea wagon at the end was a very welcome sight.
