Shatton Moor - Friday 2nd May

Post  Admin on Sat Apr 05, 2014 7:38 am

Friday 2nd May - Shatton Moor
This 5.3 mile walk has the advantage of once leaving Shatton village being traffic-free and benefits from being in a less frequented part of the popular Hope Valley. The walk is almost entirely on quiet lanes and tracks with the exception of one short field-path and passes through meadows and up around the head of Over Dale and Shatton Moor. Throughout most of the walk there are extensive views across the Hope Valley and the southern boundary of the Dark Peak Area.

Details:-
Meeting point is just over the bridge which leads  to the village of Shatton from the A6187 Hope Road, just past the High Peak Garden Centre, S33 0AL at 10.00

Rotten Cherry, rot-ten!

This is a beautiful walk and I'm going to try my best to make it a suitable Sunday walk by extending it somewhere along the way. Great views all the way through, and virtually no other people. Bliss!
