Chee Dale - Sunday 13th April

Post  Admin on Sat Feb 15, 2014 8:21 am

Chee Dale - Sunday 13th April
This is an exhilarating walk which for part of it takes us through the beautiful Chee Dale which follows the River Wye to Millers Dale. 8 miles long in total, the walk should take 4.5 hours to complete.

Details:-
Meet at The Church Inn, Main St, Chelmorton, Buxton, SK17 9SL at 10.0 for 10.15 start. Please do not park in the pub car park, there is plenty of on-street parking in the village.

I will have to pass on this one, unfortunately - am only returning to Sheffield very late on Saturday, I will probably be very tired.... Enjoy it, and best regards from Freiburg!!!

What an absolutely fantastic walk today, the views were amazing., Not too sure about the hill that we walked down...well not sure we walked down more like stumbled, tripped and scrambled down. I was holding on to pieces of grass as though that was going to save me from falling to my death  pale

Walking by the river is always a nice thing to do. I didn't see much wildlife down there though.

I have decided that I wont be sitting next to Darren at dinner time ever again, you can ask him why not  Very Happy

Awww, leave Darren alone. He was just a bit 'pooped'  Razz

Chee Dale is a real gem, I would say my favourite Dale all in all. Well, until we do Lathkilldale next week Very Happy .

This wasn't an easy walk, despite supposedly only being 7.8 miles according to the book. Not surprised that John's GPS said almost 10, it certainly felt like it!

Big welcome to Rachel, and congratulations on winning the raffle on your first walk. It took Jean 2 years to register her first win.

Oooh this couch feels especially comfy tonight.

That was such a picturesque walk today! Really enjoyed it. Some parts were quite tricky and those lime stones are so slippy I think we all did well to stay on our feet! Walking beside the river was lovely and apart from the cold wind at the beginning the weather was glorious too! Thanks to everyone for great company as usual, and I hope the new lady enjoyed it too.

Trying to upload Darren's photos at the mo!

A really lovely picturesque walk today, the scenery and views were spectacular. The limestone did make it tricky going in places, and well done to everyone for stopping upright coming down that hill, one of the steepest we've had in a long time. Lovely to meet Rachel today, I hope you enjoyed yourself today, and well done on winning the raffle. Thanks to Jean, Steve and Andrea for the lift today, very much appreciated.

As far as I am aware, to make a claim for damage to an instrument, the said instrument has to be fully functional in the first place. So to proceed with the claim, witnesses would be required to swear on oath that the said instrument was indeed totam suam i.e completamente intacto.

Would anybody be prepared to stand up in court and confirm that 'things' were fully functional  Wink
