Creswell Crags - Sunday 18th May

Post  Admin on Sat Feb 15, 2014 8:11 am

Creswell Crags - Sunday 18th May
Starting from the impressive limestone gorge of Creswell Crags, the route first of all takes us past the outskirts of Creswell itself to the picturesque hamlet of Belph. From here here we cut through part of Welbeck Abbey Estate and take a well known local path known as Robin Hood Way back to the start. The total length of this walk is 8 miles, and there are no hills at all for once!

Details:-
Meet at Creswell Crags Visitor Centre, Crags Road, Welbeck, Notts, S80 3LH at 10.0 for 10.15 start.

Sorry guys can't make this one. I feel as though I have abandoned the group at present. I have the kids several Sundays on the Trot to make up for going on holiday etc. Will hope to return for the 25 May. Have fun.  :wine wine coffee

We didn't need to cross our fingers cos it was bloomin gorgeous today!  sunny
Really enjoyable easy walk with plenty of nice views. Loved the tea garden I could have sat there all afternoon but as Steve pointed out we are a walking group he he! Also enjoyed the tea and scone at Cresswell Crags visitor centre. I would like to do the cave tour some day - anyone else up for it?

Yeah, we'd be up for the cave tour. Anything historical (or hysterical!) is fine by us.

Lovely weather, but not too hot with that nice breeze, so perfect for walking really.

Couldn't agree more about the Pennymore café, or whatever it's called. Little gem that place is and nice to see that it's doing well 2 years after we first saw it.

Big welcome to new walker Kathryn. Hope you enjoyed the walk today and that we'll see you again soon.  Very Happy
