Whittington and The Handleys - Sunday 15th December

Post  Admin on Tue Nov 12, 2013 6:09 am

Whittington and The Handleys - Sunday 15th December
This is a lovely walk through some surprising Derbyshire countryside, with lots of interesting features along the way. At Whittington there's the 17c Revolution House, then there's Murder Field which tells it's own story, the haunted Jacobean mansion Hagge Farm, and the three Handleys; West, Middle and Nether. A total of 8 miles of mainly field tracks which can get muddy at times and should take us between 4 and 5 hours to complete.

Details:-
Meet at Revolution House, High Street, Old Whittington, Chesterfield, S41 9JZ at 10.0 for 10.15 start. There is plenty of on-street parking close by.

I hope we get a good turn out for this walk as it's a really nice area that we'll be walking in.

Got a couple of places in our car if anybody wants a lift.

I will start the ball rolling by putting my name down for this. Natalia 9.15 should be fine for this one if you are going.

How many men do you need?  Smile  Well if it's three, see below.............

Just in case there's pistols at dawn with Roger and Chris and neither survives, we'd step in!

Just let me know Alison. I'm picking Natalia up at Broomhill but need to come past yours on the way to Chesterfield. I can just alter time I pick up Natalia. Long time since I have picked up so many women. The 70's were very good to me. 7u 7u 7u rg

Hi, this is Alison's secretary and she would like Roger to know that she is very grateful for the lift and she will see you at the Prince of Wales pub like before. Please advise a time.
We are enjoying a Christmas tipple at the moment, well actually a whole bottle of wine wine
Thanks to Chris as well for the offer of the extra assistance!

I'd like to come tomorrow. Have you still got room in your car Steve, or I could drive this time if you like.

Yes, we've got room. Or equally, you can drive if you want! If you want to come to ours for about 9.10 we can decide then if you want.

Thank you Archie, Steve, Alison, Andrea, Anne, Chris, Enid, Robert, Steve, Virge for the last walk of the year (for me), with the mini-ponies and the horses and the Revolution House and the murder field! Even the mud is fine in good company. See you all in the new year, have a lovely Christmas!!! Andrea, Roger - I hope you are feeling better.

What a lovely message to us all, thank you Natalia! I hope you have a safe journey home and the dental treatment is not too painful! Thank you Steve for the lift. Thank you to everyone else for their company on this walk, the history of the places was very interesting! Alison

And the rain never came did it! A nice steady stroll with not too much mud was perfect today, even without the old gal  Laughing . She's just about back to normal incidentally for those who were asking about her.

Good luck and have a great Christmas Natalia on your travels, and Chris too.
