Sundway walk - 19th January

Post  Sue W on Sat Jan 18, 2014 6:47 am

Please book me and my husband, John, on Sunday's walk. John is not yet a member - so trust that will be o.k. We will not be staying for the meal.

Thanks and look forward to meeting up.

No problem - there was no "cut-off" time, so you're ok. To be fair, the pub are being extremely accommodating saying we can add numbers tomorrow and even Sunday if necessary.
You'd think that all pubs would do this in this day and age but it's not always the case. Sometimes they want exact numbers and an exact time a week in advance!

Hilary and I will be attending the walk but not the meal. Is expected finish time about 2.30?

Good guess! The pub meal is booked for 3 because I thought 2.30-2.45 for finishing the walk.

Can anybody who hasn't been on a walk yet this year possibly get to the start early because there's an insurance form which we need you to complete. Also, can you bring this years subs with you if you don't mind (£3). Cheers!

Great views today, and a real tough 7 miles thanks to loads of mud, mud and more mud.

I think we all 30 of us (fantastic turnout!) deserve a big pat on the back for our efforts today, especially the new walkers and those walkers who we haven't seen for a while - hope you weren't put off guys  Smile

Once again it was nice to have a meal arranged for after the walk, and I think most people thought it was ok. The service was pretty good, and the room was just what we needed, so that was a good start. Shame the beef ran out though!

Having aching legs and a full stomach isn't a bad place to be on a Sunday evening!!!!

What a nice way to spend a birthday! Lovely sunny winters day which felt more like spring, great company, fabulous views and a pub meal to finish! Just don't mention the mud lol

Thanks so much to everyone who brought me cards! Xxx

Really ice walk, so lucky with the weather, mud didn't matter, prefer it to rain or snow. Meal was lovely, agree with Steve re beef. Happy birthday Caroline!

Its not every January that you can walk around in your vest top, but I did today  Smile

The mud was the worst I have seen in a long time, and I've got a feeling that it wont be last time we see it.

It was great to see so many people along today, it must be something to do with the meal. I think everyone enjoyed their food, I know I did. There wasn't any room for desert, that must be a first  Very Happy

Hope Caz had a great day  dance

Remember that wonderful episode in _Alice IN Wonderland_ when the Mad Hatter considers "all words beginning with an M"? Marvelous... Melodious.... Magnificent.... Here is another one: MUD -- which was still marvelous and magnificent in such a lovely company. Thank you for organizing the meal, too, Steve! A pity the lady with Major couldn't join us.
