Details:-
Meet at the Visitors Centre, Ulley Country Park, Pleasely Road, Ulley, Sheffield, S26 3XL at 10.00 for 10.15 start.

Andrea and me did a recce of this walk this week on a boiling hot day and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely rolling fields all round us and pretty little hamlets were the highlights. The walk actually took us through the middle of ripened wheat fields which I hope will still be there because it made the walk very special.

We were also fortunate to see 2 buzzards, a kestrel and a pair of jays as well as the usual skylarks, tits, wagtails etc.

Ulley reservoir is beautiful too, and worth the visit on its own. 60p to park all day too!

The Royal Oak at Ulley is a nice place to have a drink after a walk, with lager at only £2.10 a pint. However.......it is a Sam Smiths house which doesn't suit everybody!

Lift needed

Post  Steve M on Wed Aug 22, 2012 8:28 am

Got a new lady called Pam joining us Sunday but she needs a lift if anybody can help. Fulwood/Broomhill/City Centre would be great if there's anyone passing any of these.

Grand day out

Post  Steve M on Mon Aug 27, 2012 4:48 am

26 was the final number, and what a lovely day we had. Big welcome to new walkers Oz Michelle, Roger and Pam and welcome back to Liz and Ginette too cheers . Lovely to have all 26 doing a bit of socialising at the pub too - that's what it's all about for me, walking and socialising.
Bring on the pie and a pint Laughing

Good day

I really enjoyed today, especially as it was on my door step. It was lovely to see so many fellow walkers old & new and have a good old fashion chin wag lol!

I really enjoyed meeting up with everyone on yesterday's walk! The best part was walking around the reservoir at the end and even better than that was the fact we didn't get a soaking for once! Smile
