Langsett - Thursday 22nd August

Post  Steve M on Sun Jul 14, 2013 8:09 pm

Thursday 22nd August - Langsett Reservoir

A five and a half mile walk round the reservoir and across moorland which should take about 2.5 hours to complete. There is a steady climb from the top of the reservoir to the turn on the moor, but the views are well worth it when you get there. There is also the intriguingly named derelict farm of North America to view along the way.

Details:-

Meet at Langsett Barn car park which is situated on the A616 about 200 yards after the Waggon and Horses, Langsett, S36 4GY at 10.0. The car park is pay and display. There is no public transport to get to the start of the walk so if you are intending to come on the walk and need a lift, or can offer a lift, could you please say so in your post.

Andrea and me will be partaking of this walk all being well. The only thing bothering me at this stage is do we use the crappy pub, or the crappy café for some grub afterwards pale

Why don't we take a picnic for afterwards ? We can leave it in the cooler bag in the car, then either sit on a bench or on the grass. Its supposed to be a nice day Smile

Deborah and Ann - bring some food if you want to stay for a picnic afterwards. Andrea's dad will be coming too.

Couldn't agree more with what Angie says about the picnic, bang on idea Mrs M clap

The heather and bracken looked beautiful across the moors today, and this is a wonderful walk any time of year but especially so at this time of year.

Great to have Sheila back, but she took some keeping up with ---------------> hiker
