Sheffield Croquet club are currently allowing people to come and try for a few sessions.

Come along on Saturdays from 2pm. I hope to make both of these if not working - best way to find out if I am going is to text me (Colin) on 07850247358.

We are a newly-formed Croquet Club and are based at the Sheffield Transport Sports Ground, Greenhill Main Road, Meadowhead.

New members are very welcome to join us in our first season. Don’t worry if you have never played croquet before. The club will provide all the equipment you will need, and our coaches will provide initial training for all members who are new to croquet. During the season, we will be running courses for both beginners and more experienced players.

We will be holding a couple of 'taster' sessions in the early part of the year, but you would be very welcome to come along to any of our normal club sessions, and try your hand under the guidance of one of our more experienced players. More about our Club.

Croquet is a game for everyone.

Croquet can be played by all ages and men and women can play on equal terms. Croquet offers something different; it is a fresh-air sport that does not require extreme fitness. Playing croquet provides opportunities to meet people, and at the same time can be as competitive as you want to make it.

Croquet is often caricatured as being a genteel game played on the lawns of Victorian vicarages. Today, nothing could be further from the truth. It is a game which not only requires good eye-hand co-ordination, but also real precision, delicacy of touch & an understanding of tactics.

I've played this once before and it was fun! So I'd try a taster/social at this. Smile
