Cutthroat Bridge - 9th September

Post  Admin on Sun Aug 12, 2012 8:51 pm

Sunday 9th September - Cutthroat Bridge
This is a nine mile walk which takes us over the Derwent Moors and passes various well known landmarks such as Hurkling Stones, Wheel Stones and Salt Cellar. Quite a bit of climbing on this walk, but on decent paths throughout.

Details:-

Meet at the lay-by on the left hand side of the A57 close to Cutthroat Bridge at 10.00 for 10.15 start. The lay-by is about a mile before you get to The Ladybower Inn and about a mile after passing Hollow Meadows.

There shouldn't be any problem with Anne logging on cos her membership request has been accepted. The most common reason for someone not being able to log on is user name/password not being entered exactly the same as they were when they registered. Tell her to try again and to especially check upper and lower case details, and if she still can't log on I'll change her password so she can start again!

8 wanderers set off on a pleasant 9 mile stroll lol!
6 wanderers returned after a 13 mile hike lol!
Lovely sunshiney day along Derwent edge. It was nice to meet Roy and Marilyn our two new walkers, but shame they had to cut the walk short due to Marilyn having trouble with her knees, hope we will see you again. To the rest of my comrades i hope your not too knackered Sleep
Todays walkers, Robert, Anne, Simon, Chris, Karen, Jean, Roy and Marilyn.

Seeing as there was 23 of us in lincolnshire for the weekend, and a number of other people not available, that was quite a good turnout. Pity you though if it was as hot as where we were. 29c at one point!

Thanks to Anne from me too. Not an easy walk but the spectacular views from the
tops made the climbs well worth it.
